Be jealous of me

Heh. Just spent a metric butt-ton of money at BMG, for a half-metric butt-ton of music.

Most of what I got is standard Bible-thumpin' Jesus-freak fare, but....

Right now, I'm groovin' out to Gordon Lightfoot's Sundown...after I listened to his Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald...twice.

After that, I think I'm going to go to sleep to some Jim Croce.

Life is good. Be jealous of me.

Grrr. My hand is still bothering me. Typing is still quite painful, as is my job, as is doing just about anything I need my left hand for.

I promisepromisepromise I'll have an After Action Report for my trip down here AND an After Action Report for this past weekend.

All I have to say is, Texas could have surrendered peacefully this past weekend. It didn't. So, we're gonna have to do this the hard way.

I just may have to teach Texas a lesson, and draft some reinforcements from Wisconsin.

New home, same excuses

Okay, sorry I didn't put up a post like I said I was going to. You see, I pinched a nerve in my elbow, which has near-paralyzed 1/2 of my left hand, and left me with about 1/2 use of the rest of it, leaving me with, functionally, 1/4 use of my left hand. For those of you who are curious, my broken hand is the right hand...

So, typing with only 25-50% use of my left hand is...how do I say this...rather uncomfortable. The thought of trying to pound something out for the site sends chills up my spine, because of all the contortions I have to force my left hand to make to type at a reasonable level. Plus, I have to type most words three or four times, because I make so many typos, due to my fingers not doing what I tell them to do, meaning typing is even MORE uncomfortable.

I talked to doctor, and, frankly, she was a worthless as tits on a bull. Her advice was "Wait a couple of weeks for it to go away on its own. If it doesn't, then, we'll run some (really, REALLY expensive) tests." Thanks, doc. I could have done the "wait for it to go away on its own" treatment on my own, and saved myself $100.

...What has she done?!

*sigh* It's not as bad as I thought it would be....

Of course, it's still not good.

If I were Beth, or Harvey, or Brad, or any of you other knuckleheads who egged her on, I'd be running and hiding, if I were you.

I love you guys anyway.

It's good to be home. I'll have details tomorrow, when I hope I have more use out of my hand. Long story. I'll explain tomorrow.

UPDATE: Okay, Brad is off the hook. Sorry about the Blue-on-Blue. The rest of you, on the other hand....(shakes fist)

Talked to him today. He was on his way to Wally World to do a little retail therapy (which I don't think means as much to guys as it does to us girls... oh, well... )

Latest tidbit of info... he'll have internet hooked up next Saturday (as well as phone service). So... only one more week to decorate his place. Any more ideas???

Unless something major happens, the next update will be from the Humble Devildog, himself.

I'm telling you... AJ really needs to get internet access, or I'm redecorating these digs...

Seriously, AJ finished his first week at his new job. I'll let him fill in all the details once he gets back on the internet. He moves into his apartment today.

It sounds like he's been doing a bit of recon, getting the lay of the land. His first large scale interaction with the natives will be at the Bacchanal on the Comal. If you haven't made plans to attend (and you live within driving/flying distance), you really should.

OK... let's see... Harvey suggested pink in the kitchen... how about lavender paint for the bathroom?

Another Update Not Written By AJ

AJ is alive and well and currently living (in a hotel for a few days) in the pretty decent town of Round Rock in the great State of Texas. The apartment he's trying to rent won't be ready for move in until the 10th. Well, drat.

He starts work on Monday for a competitor of the company he used to work for (no tears were shed, as far as I can tell). He'll be working on a truck with another guy, but he'll be doing all the hard work (my interpretation, not his words). I don't think he'll have to do quite as much walking, so he'll probably be down to only needing 2573 calories a day, instead of his usual 3000+.

That's all from him for now. Hopefully he'll be able to get internet service pretty quick. I'm sure y'all rather be hearing from him.
